On 5th and 12th February 2024, the Representatives of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria and United Arab Emirates visited RCECWA to discuss about potential areas of regional collaborations on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). In these meetings, at first Prof. Baziar (President of International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology, IIEES) introduced the new opportunities on DRRM that have been developed by establishment of RCECWA . Then Dr. Srong (Director of UNESCO Tehran Office), Dr. Mehrdadi (Head of Science Sector of UNESCO Tehran Office), and Dr. Gholami (Head of Education Sector of UNESCO Tehran Office) presented some brief explanations about the recent activities of UNESCO on DRRM in the region. Then Dr. Amini Hosseini (Director of RCECWA) introduced the mandates and capacities of RCECWA to provide necessary technical and educational services to the countries located in the West and Central Asia with assistance of UNESCO and IIEES. After that all participants discussed on areas of collaborations in future and it was agreed on follow up the results of the meeting. At the end of the meeting the participants visited the National Broadband Seismic Network of IIEES.
